ESL 5 - Discussion Club


Course Description

Practice your conversation, discussion and reading skills in a relaxed and fun environment. As you read various classic American short stories or current articles suitable for the ESL 5 level, gain an insight into North American culture and literature. Then discuss the stories, listen to the thoughts of others and express your opinions. Each class session features vocabulary, grammar, idioms and interesting conversation and discussion. Prerequisite: ESL Placement Test score of 110 or higher for Reading Skills test area, or a minimum grade of 2.0 in CES 7421. The Testing Center in the McDowell Building requires no appointment, but you must bring your student ID number, a photo ID (e.g. driver's license, passport) and your current address (including zip code). Allow at least 2.5 hours for the test. Testing Center hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-7:30pm, Fri 8am-4:30 pm, Sat 10am-2pm; call 734- 462-4806 for more information.**
