Intermediate Adult Swim Stroke & Technique

Course Description
Students will work on advancing their skills to become stronger swimmers. Build upon previously learned knowledge of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke to increase distance and refine skills while learning new skills like butterfly and turns in the water.
Skills to be learned: tread water for 2 minutes, standing dive in deep end, retrieve an object from 5-7ft , 1 lap(50 yards) freestyle with proper body position; body rotation; correct kick and arm rotations, 1 lap(50 yards) backstroke with proper body position; body rotation; correct kick and arm rotations, 1 lap(50 yards) breaststroke with proper kick; arms and coordination; breathing every stroke, 1/2 lap (25 yards) butterfly with proper body undulations(kick); correct arms and breathing every/other stroke, introduction to flip turns and open turns for appropriate strokes. For the instructor to recommend a student move to the next level, these skills must be demonstrated. Prerequisite: Beginning Adult Swim & Stroke Technique.
