Construction at Schoolcraft College

Construction will be starting on campus as of September 23, 2019. Although construction (especially in the State of Michigan) often means headaches and disruptions, Schoolcraft has taken measures to ensure that our faculty and staff will be inconvenienced as little as possible during this period.

We ask that you remain flexible, as construction is not always on time and minor external factors could affect the timing. Please keep in mind that Schoolcraft is not only an outstanding educational provider, but also a community leader that benefits our service area through strategic partnerships. In fact, these important partnerships with healthcare providers and major corporations across Southeastern Michigan are what has led to the development of these new centers. Specifically, the new centers include:

Construction Project Descriptions

  • Health Sciences (HS) Center

  • St. Joe's Mercy Elite Sports Center (ESC)

  • Schoolcraft College Manufacturing & Engineering Center (MEC)

  • IHA & St. Joe’s Livonia Medical Center

As you can see, these partnerships will offer our students innovative approaches to thinking and learning, and the support they need to be successful in their educational endeavors. Additionally, these centers will serve the public at large, thus fulfilling our promise of serving all members of our community.

Again, we appreciate your patience as we work to complete these new centers on campus; and keep an eye out for more updates on our progress! For additional questions, please reach out to communications@schoolcraft.edu.

Week of October 10, 2019: Applied Science east handicapped parking spaces will be eliminated by the time Health Science Center construction is complete. They will be inaccessible for most of construction duration. Schoolcraft College handicapped parking counts currently exceed what is required by law. Our recommendation is to utilize existing and alternate handicapped parking near and around the building. If this proves unsatisfactory the College will look at converting a few standard parking spaces to accommodate the need.

Week of September 23, 2019: Saw cutting asphalt, soil erosion measures and asphalt removal will happen.
