After completing a Bachelor's degree in math/secondary education at Northern Michigan University, Kathy taught 3 years at the secondary level before earning an MS in Applied Mathematics at Michigan State University. Along the way, she tutored/taught five years at Lansing Community College, before accepting a full-time position teaching mathematics at Mid Michigan Community College in 1993. In 2001, she started teaching full time at Schoolcraft College. One of the best things about her job is helping students become empowered learners of mathematics through hard work and perseverance.
