I am originally from Portage, MI. I stayed close to home after high school, attending Western Michigan University. I then spent four years in Lincoln, NE attending graduate school in mathematics. I worked my way through the PhD program, earning the prestigious, unofficial “ABD” degree (all but dissertation). Eager to come back to the state of Michigan and begin my teaching career, I found myself at Schoolcraft College. Since joining the Schoolcraft faculty in 2009, I’ve taught a wide range of math courses from Pre-Algebra to Differential Equations. I also serve as the faculty adviser to the Math & Physics club.
I am married with three beautiful daughters. I’ve become involved in many of my girls’ activities, most recently coaching softball in the South Lyon Junior League.
I’ve run 5 marathons, including the Boston Marathon in 2015. I enjoy staying active in the Schoolcraft fitness center, playing golf, and also cross-country skiing.
