  3. I-20 Issuance
Once the international student packet and all additional required documents are submitted and checked for completion a visa eligibility document (I-20) will be generated. This document allows foreign nationals to obtain F-1 or M-1 student status either by changing their current visa status if they are in the U.S. or by obtaining an F-1 or M-1 visa through a U.S. consulate or embassy outside of the U.S. You will receive your I-20 and Welcome Packet with additional information via regular postal mail or expedited shipping if you choose to use eShip.
  4. Obtaining A Visa
Once you receive your Welcome Packet and I-20 in the mail, you can begin preparing for your visa interview. The Welcome Packet will contain instructions for paying the SEVIS fee and applying for your visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate.
  5. Transcripts
If you previously attended college or university inside the U.S please submit your official college transcripts to Schoolcraft College. The transcripts must be sent directly from the transfer institution to Schoolcraft College. Hand carried or “issued to student” copies will not be accepted or considered official.

If you previously attended college or university outside the U.S and would like to determine if your credits are eligible to transfer you need to have them evaluated by an independent source. This is optional and you are not required to have your previous foreign transcripts evaluated. If you would like an evaluation, select a course by course evaluation. Evaluations are accepted from Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or World Education Services (WES). There is a cost associated with this and no guarantee that any of your credits will transfer in.
