Teen Fire Academy: Freshman-Senior

CES-0991

Course Description

Get a glimpse into the rewarding occupation of firefighting. Work in a fire training facility with all the tools, equipment, gear, simulators and vehicles that our Fire Academy students use on a daily basis. Extinguish a real fire, climb a fire fighting ladder, wear actual turnout gear and more! Learn with hands-on, one-of-a-kind field training with a 5:1 student/instructor ratio! Students who successfully complete the training will become CPR/AED certified. Wear flat, closed-toed/heeled shoes to class. No sandals. Camp activities take place both at Schoolcraft's Livonia Campus and Fire Training Facility. There will be a showcase at the end of the week for your family and friends to see what you have learned about during the week of firefighting training. Transportation to the Fire Training Facility from Main Campus is provided. Bring a bag lunch to camp each day.
