Course Description

This course will address the knowledge, skills and dispositions which are demonstrated by a highly qualified, effective teacher. Students will collect, organize and reflect upon evidence that demonstrates their attitudes, skills, knowledge and abilities as an effective educator. This is the capstone course for the Alternative Route for Interim Teacher Certification Program.

Prerequisites

(A requirement that must be completed before taking this course.)

  • Consent of department.

Course Competencies

Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:

  • Create a variety of learning experiences that demonstrate knowledge of central grade level concepts.
  • Analyze assessment data effectively to inform instruction.
  • Create a classroom website to increase home/school communication.
  • Utilize technology to effectively enhance learning.
  • Design a project to address a need which can be implemented within a school community.
