The new 2022-23 FAFSA application is available beginning October 1, 2021. Please do not hesitate to apply and get ahead of the curve for the next Fall semester. Apply now! Awarding will begin early 2022. You can also download the MyStudentAid mobile app to apply as well.

Important Update: As of July 13th, 2021 per the Department of Education, students selected for Verification Group 1 (V1) are no longer required to submit the requested documentation for this process. The Department of Education is focusing this award year's effort strictly on identity and fraud. Students selected for Verification Groups V4 & V5 are still required to submit the requested documentation. Any documents submitted for this process will not be retained by the Office of Financial Aid.  Announcements & Events.

Sources of Aid

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

To apply for federal, state, and institutional financial aid, you need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Completing the FAFSA is free, easy to complete, and gives you access to the largest sources of financial aid to pay for college. Be sure to include the Schoolcraft College School Code of 002315 so we get your information.

Scholarships are a great way to help pay for college. Schoolcraft College has both merit-based scholarships and need-based scholarships. Some scholarship applications require that the student has also completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA.) Complete your scholarship application profile and apply for scholarships today.

Student Loans

Direct Loans for Schoolcraft College students are processed by the Department of Education. Students must fill out a FAFSA, complete the Verification Process and submit a loan request to the Office of Financial Aid.  Student loans are not automatically awarded with your initial award letter.

How will I be notified?

The Office of Financial Aid will notify you thru your Schoolcraft College email address regarding your application status. You can review your application status and receive your award letter from the Financial Aid menu on WebAdvisor.

Contact the Office of Financial Aid regarding any questions regarding the financial aid process. Inform our office of any changes in circumstances. You may qualify for a re-evaluation of your financial aid information.

*Our primary source of communication is via your SCmail account. Be sure to monitor your SCmail and your Ocelot Access account regularly for any updates regarding your financial aid status.

Financial Aid Rights and Responsibilities

It is important to note that along with the benefits that financial aid offers, there are rights and responsibilities for the recipients. Students need to review the basic rights and responsibilities of financial aid, as well as those that are specific to any type of aid you receive.
