Welcome to The Community College Enterprise website. The Community College Enterprise is a peer-reviewed research journal publishing original research that expands our knowledge about the structure and nature of teaching and learning within the community college arena. As a leading resource for researchers and educators, the journal publishes high-quality research that captures the cutting edge practices and techniques that currently define the community college experience.

We welcome articles from authors and researchers whose focus is on community college education. Individuals considering a submission will find most of their questions regarding format and submission guidelines addressed under The Information for Contributors heading.

Additionally, The Community College Enterprise is always looking at new ideas and topics for possible attention. As such, community college practitioners are encouraged to submit topic suggestions they would like to see addressed in future features—whether “At Issue,” “A Short Take,” “Book Review,” or “Technology in Practice.” If you already have completed manuscripts that you think would fit any of the features, do not hesitate to submit them, just as you would a regular research or practice article.

You may forward materials to specific feature editors who are listed within the Editorial Board or simply submit work directly to, where it will be received and processed by our staff.

For researchers, our archives contain everything that we have published listed by author, title, and issue. At least one article in each issue appears as full text. Currently, there are full-text versions of all articles printed from the Spring 2004 edition through our most current release. If you are having difficulty finding a copy of an article you want to document as part of your research, contact us directly via e-mail (, and we will be glad to assist.

Since our overall objective at The Community College Enterprise is to disseminate useful information and techniques current in community colleges, we hope you will make use of our website, as well as share your own ideas about what is important to educators in the 21st century.
