The Music program at Schoolcraft College has recently been expanded to include three unique certificate programs aimed at helping pianists who are interested in having a successful career as private piano teachers.  

The Piano Teacher Certificate is designed for pianists to pursue professional careers as private piano teachers. It provides instruction in piano teaching materials and techniques as well as music theory and history. The Piano Teacher Advanced Certificate is a more advanced curriculum designed for current private piano teachers who want to advance their professional careers.

The Music Department also offers a Keys for Piano Skills Teacher Certificate. This is a quick and flexible Skills Certificate for piano teachers at any level. It’s an ideal opportunity for busy teachers to infuse their instruction with today’s best practices and trends.

In addition, Schoolcraft’s Music department offers a Music Foundations Certificate and Music Intermediate Certificate which provide opportunities for students to expand their music horizons or earn music credits that will transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a major in music.
