New Free Tool Helps Students and Public Identify Best Career Path

September 25, 2017

A new online career assessment tool that will enable students and community members to learn about in-demand careers and the college majors they need to access jobs in that career field was recently launched by Schoolcraft College. Career Coach provides those interested in finding their best career path the opportunity to take a career assessment and explore career options and educational programs via the college’s Career Services page at www.schoolcraft.edu/careerservices.

The free online Career Coach assessment tool can help students and community members identify their interests, match them to potential career areas and learn the type of education and skills required for those careers. Using that information and a simple keyword search, Career Coach users can also learn about the employment prospects for a variety of careers, wage information and current job postings in the area. Career Coach is also a tool for mapping a student’s or community member’s educational pathway, including degrees and certificates offered at Schoolcraft College, to ensure they achieve their career goals.

In addition to Career Coach, Schoolcraft College’s Career Services department offers a number of other programs to help in someone’s job search, including career counseling, resources and workshops to help with developing resumes, cover letters and improving interviewing skills, and an online job board with hundreds of job listings from local employers.
