Manufacturing Day Event Provides Livonia Middle School Students with Tours of Manufacturing and Technology Labs and Hands-On Demonstrations to Pique Interest in Manufacturing Careers
More than 400 Livonia middle school students visited Schoolcraft College on Manufacturing Day Oct. 6 to take a tour of the college’s Manufacturing and Technology labs and the Mechatronics Lab, and receive hands-on demonstrations facilitated by faculty members in 3D Printing, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Plastics and Welding. The students also viewed displays from local manufacturing companies and organizations.
The Manufacturing Day events were coordinated through a partnership with Schoolcraft College, the Livonia Chamber of Commerce and Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center to pique students’ interest in working in the manufacturing industry.
