Auditions for "It Came From Mars" January 27-28

January 24, 2020

Schoolcraft College Theatre’s 2019-2020 season will conclude in March with Joseph Zettelmaier’s farce It Came From Mars. Auditions will be held January 27 and 28 (Monday and Tuesday) at 6 p.m. in the James R. Hartman Theatre (LA 500) on the Livonia Campus.

Auditions are open to students, faculty, staff and community members; no acting experience is required. More information, including audition sides, is available at www.schoolcraft.edu/theatre.

It Came From Mars features a troupe of radio actors in the 1930s who attempt to rehearse their own show the night that Orson Welles delivers his famous “War of the Worlds” broadcast. The actors fly into hysterics, believing they are about to be obliterated by aliens. Truth and loyalty square off against fear and paranoia.

Zettelmaier, who wrote the play and will direct, is an award-winning Michigan playwright, an adjunct lecturer at Eastern Michigan University and is Artistic Director of Penny Seats Theatre in Ann Arbor.
