Dr. Conway A. Jeffress Keynote Speaker at STEAMz Schoolcraft Conference

February 04, 2020

Schoolcraft College president Dr. Conway A. Jeffress will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Professional Development Conference, which is Friday, March 27, in Waterman 210 ABC in the VisTaTech Center.

The program is from 1 to 6 p.m. Jeffress will speak for about 40 minutes starting at 1:20 p.m., taking questions during this time frame.

This year’s theme is STEAMzSchoolcraft: Bridging the Arts, Humanities, and Sciences. This theme investigates how these disciplines effectively build on one another in real-world settings to support students’ academic and professional goals. The “z” refers to Generation Z. This focus was selected because the current traditional college-age student (18-22) is a part of Generation Z, the eldest of this group entering the workforce.

Proposals are still being accepted for students interested in presenting at this year’s Professional Development Conference. Participants with diverse backgrounds and interests are sought to creatively address the theme with an original presentation, activity or poster presentation. The deadline is noon, Friday, February 7.

The Professional Development Conference is presented by Learning Support Services, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Scholars Honors Program.
