Register to Attend STEAMz Conference

March 04, 2020

Enrolled Schoolcraft students are encouraged to register to attend this year’s Student-Led Conference, which is Friday, March 27, in Waterman 210 ABC in the VisTaTech Center.

Schoolcraft College president Dr. Conway A. Jeffress will be the keynote speaker. The program is from 1 to 6 p.m. Jeffress will speak for about 40 minutes starting at 1:20 p.m., taking questions during this time frame.

This year’s theme is STEAMzSchoolcraft: Bridging the Arts, Humanities, and Sciences. This theme investigates how these disciplines effectively build on one another in real-world settings to support students’ academic and professional goals. The “z” refers to Generation Z. This focus was selected because the current traditional college-age student (18-22) is a part of Generation Z, the eldest of this group entering the workforce.

For this year’s conference, a large number of proposals were submitted and underwent a selective review process by the STEAMz Proposal Committee. Selected oral and poster presenters consist of enrolled Schoolcraft College students, alumni and staff.

Registration is required to attend, and will remain open until Monday, March 16, or until seating capacity is reached. Registration is filling up quickly.
