Schoolcraft College’s beer won five medals at the recent Beer Army Beer Wars Commercial Beer Competition, which drew more than entries from 32 states and provinces across the United States and Canada. Schoolcraft’s results were:
- Second place English Dark Mild – Tea Time
- Second place Oatmeal Stout – Winter Stout
- Second place American Pale – College Pale
- Second place Belgian Golden Strong – Grand Cru
- Third place Helles Bock/Maibock – Noble Bier
This national contest in Charlotte, North Carolina, is open to all commercial breweries with ale and lager beer categories.
“This is an excellent showing for our beers, which are brewed by Schoolcraft College students,” Thomas Block, Director of Brewing and Distillation Technology. “We’ve been entering this event, which helps support veterans and first responders, the past couple of years, and the competition is always strong.”
