Focus Series Examines COVID-19, African American Community

The next Focus Series will examine the impact of COVID-19 on suicide and mental illness in the African American population.

The program will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6. You can join through this Zoom link. The meeting ID is 940 1304 7558.

The panelists are:

  • Tinetra Burns, a Clinical Specialist with Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority. She also serves as a suicide prevention specialist among many other roles.
  • Andrea Smith, Director of Workforce Training & Program Development with the Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority.
  • Daicia Price, who is a clinical assistant professor of social work at the University of Michigan School of Social Work.

The Focus Series presentations are sponsored by the Schoolcraft College International Institute, co-sponsored by the Student Activities Office and supported by a grant from the Schoolcraft College Foundation.
