“Being able to continue their studies online offers peace of mind to our students,” said Stacy Whiddon, Chief Academic Officer. “These are challenging times for everyone in so many ways. People are having to juggle more responsibilities, such as shifting work schedules, working from home or helping children or siblings learn from home.”

Online classes can be an especially good fit for students who need or have flexibility.

“With online classes, you work a bit more at your own pace because the classes don’t meet at a set time,” Whiddon said. “This type of class works best for those who have some flexibility in their day. Assignments and online discussions are completed on a regular schedule, however.”

Whiddon also emphasized that the faculty at Schoolcraft College understands the difficulties students are facing these days and will do whatever is possible to make them feel at ease and help them achieve their goals.

“We want our students to know we are there for them,” Whiddon said. “We can point you to resources to take a bit of anxiety or burden out of your life. We know there’s more than just coursework that can keep students from their academic goals, and we’ll do our best to help them.”
