Ken Shingledecker, a familiar, successful area coach and a former player for Schoolcraft College, has been named the new women’s soccer coach.
“I am pleased to add Coach Shingledecker as our next head coach for women’s soccer,” Cali Crawford, Director of Athletics, said. “Ken brings a wealth of coaching experience to Schoolcraft College. More importantly, Ken has deep-rooted connections within the Livonia area, which should serve us well in our recruiting efforts. I look forward to seeing our women’s soccer program grow in the near future!”
Shingledecker has enjoyed success as a head coach at several levels of the sport, including boys’ and girls’ coach at Livonia Stevenson High School. He’s also Recreation Director for the Michigan Wolves Soccer Club, which plays in the St. Joe’s Sports Dome on the main campus of Schoolcraft College.
After an All-State career at Lutheran Westland High School, Shingledecker played one year at Schoolcraft, majoring in Sports Management. He continued his education and playing career at Saginaw Valley State University.
